Did MTV rig the VMAs?

So, there's a lot of talk about One Direction's managment paying MTV for One Direction to win the award for "Most Sharable Video" or something like that.

Rumors started after this picture appeared:

It reads:

How does 1D keep getting votes so fast after they start to lose?

[mtv]: 1D's managment gave us $ 150,000 to have this contest and have them win, But you can't say anything about it.

A. It would a hell of a lot more to pay to make and win an award like this

B. Why would MTV tell a fan this? Exactly.

C. We all know how easy it to fake DMs.

It is pretty weird though, Justin generally keeps a steady, even vote stream, while we go up and down like a rollarcoaster.

Considering Justin has 27 mil vs. 1D's 6 mil.

I have a few theories actually..

One is that, well, I've heard before that a lot of Justin followers are fake, created my management and stuff. If you go and look at Justin followers, so many of them are eggs that follow only a handful of completely random people, and have never tweeted before.

See? All these people follow Justin, a few more people, but have never tweeted, and there's thousands of them.

Either way, the contest isn't rigged. I alone have voted hundreds of times!
