Day 1 - Have you participated in NaNoWriMo before? If so, which years and what end result? If not (or even if so, for that matter), what’s your connection to writing? Why do you want to participate this year?
I did NaNoWriMo last year and only got to 10k before I gave up. I'm participating this year because I've been having major writers block for months. I finished 2 30k novels summer 2011 and nothing in 2012.
Day 2 - What’s the title of your story? Why did you choose the name you did?
My book is called Freefall and it comes from an Ed Sheeran song Where We Land, "Let's freefall and see where we land". I'm sure that I'm going to change that before that doesn't have anything to do with the plot or anything.
Day 3 - Pick one of your female characters. Introduce your readers to her, from her point of view and her words only.
I have three very important main females, but this is Anne.
River McGuire is a terrible best friend.
I'm sure he know that.
He's closed off and doesn't get close to people, the opposite of my twin brother Kyle.
Sometimes I wish we were best friends. I'm always there for him, whenever he needs me.
People find it impossible to believe that we have never had romantic feelings for each other.
River is attractive, that's true, but I do not like him. Plus, River doesn't date people. He has sex.
Day 4 - What genre is your novel? Why did you pick it?
Young Adult- It's a young adult novel. There's a lot of sex though. I am a young adult and this is written for young adults.
Day 5 - Name two songs from your playlist that you feel are connected with your novel in some way, and explain how they are.
My playlist is 107 songs long, even after I removed some but,
Fast Times At Claremont High- Pierce The Veil "I've been saving myself for you, I waited my whole life for you.. (Bridget had a crush on River her whole entire life.) hold on this is innocent love (Bridget's love River is innocent compared to Kendall's)... cause without you nothing ever really matter (Kendall's life revolved around River)... it's over, if i die you die too (Kendall killed Bridget because she had sex with River. And well, if River doesn't love her, she's going to kill him too).. so melodramatic but it turns me on (River is dramatic. He could date one girl, he could date one girl he likes, Kendall, but instead, he hooks up with random girls, because he's scared of being in a relationship)...i just wanted one dance with you (Bridget just wanted one dance with River)... I'd kill anyone who gets close(Kendall "loves" River so much that she'll kill anyone who get's close to him, even her own sister).. don't you know, I'd die for you (Bridget dies because she had sex with River)"
That song literally is my novel. It's odd because when I planned this story last summer I'd never heard it before.
Scene Three- With Ears to See and Eyes To Hear- Sleeping With Sirens
True friends lie underneath- River finds out that his friends really are good friends.
I think your mouth should be quite cause it never tells the truth- Everything Kendall says is lie
It's written on my heart for everyone to see- River's life is on display for the whole school to see
I Never Told You What I Do For A Living- My Chem is also a great song.
Day 6 - What is your one biggest stressor related to forcing yourself to write at least 50,000 words in a span of 30 days?
Time. I have a life, friends, school...
Day 7 - Where’s your favorite place to hunker down and write?
My bed- that's the only place I wrote except in study hall when things get desperate.
Day 8 -List your current, most up-to-date word count. Are you satisfied with your progress thus far?
26k- uhhh... I am beyond satisfied.
Day 9 - Have you told anyone else you’re doing NaNo this year? Who? What was their reaction?
My best friends- She's also doing it
My Mom- she thinks I won't finish
Counselor- He's a write and he think's its awesome
Day 10 - How does your love of writing manifest in non-NaNo months?
I always write... I just to stick to them or have a goal
