Unpopular Book Opinions

Questions... Opinions...

1. A Popular Book or series that you didn't like.

Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children. I feel like EVERYONE loves this book. I bought it a while ago and I had high hopes for it since everyone always talks about how good it is. While I did like the beginning (the first 20 days?) once the story actually start, I got so bored, so quickly. I read like maybe half of the book.

2. A Popular Book or series that every one else seems to hate but you love.

I'm not sure if this book is even popular, but Sublime by Christina Lauren. It had terrible reviews on Goodreads and around 3.5 stars, but I honestly loved it and have read it multiple time.

The same can be said about Afterparty by Ann Redisch Stampler.

3. A Love Triangle where the main character ended up with the person you did NOT want them to end up with (warn ppl for spoilers) OR an OTP that you don't like.

A NOTP: Kath and Levi in Fangirl. I know, I know. Everyone loves them... And while I loved each character individually, I didn't really like them together?

4. A popular book Genre that you hardly reach for.

Dystopian. I honestly, don't like them. I read the first Hunger Game's book and the first Divergent book and didn't like either enough to read more. I did read and enjoy the Maze Runner series though.

5. A popular or beloved character that you do not like.

Simon from The Mortal Instruments. I just found him really, really annoying. He was so boring too and I didn't ship him with anyone.

6. A popular author that you can't seem to get into.

Colleen Hoover. Everyone loves her and while I REALLY love the Never Never novellas, I can't get into anything else by her.

7. A popular book trope that you're tired of seeing. (examples "lost princess", corrupt ruler, love triangles, etc.)

I'm going to go with love triangles but I have to say that I don't always hate them. Sometimes I'm like ew I hate that other guy or I hate how the author makes our female character sway between the boys. But sometimes a love triangle adds to the book and I dig it.

8. A popular series that you have no interest in reading.

Sarah J Maas and Jennifer L Armentrout. I hear about both of these authors so often and I have no desire to read any book by either of them.

9. The saying goes "The book is always better than the movie", but what movie or T.V. show adaptation do you prefer more than the book?

Palo Alto by James Franco. I loved the movie. I loved the actors and despite the fact that there is no plot, I really, really liked it. The book on the other had...
